Africa (TMEA) is funded by a range of development agencies with the aim
of growing prosperity in East Africa through trade. We believe that
enhanced trade contributes to economic growth, a reduction In poverty
and subsequently increased prosperity. The first phase of TMEA runs to
mid-2017 and we expect this to be followed by a second phase from 2017
to 2024.
TMEA has its headquarters in Nairobi with branches in Arusha, Bujumbura, Dar es Salaam, Juba, Kampala and Kigali.
We are looking
for an exceptional procurement professional to lead our procurement,
grant, and financial aid operations across TMEA (which together account
for annual expenditure of around $100 million).
PROCUREMENT DIRECTOR
The Procurement
Director will manage procurement effectively and efficiently to ensure
that TMEA obtains good value for money, minimises the risk of bribery
and corruption, and has robust and transparent procedures which are in
line with international best practice. S/he will be responsible for
ensuring procurement efficiency and delivery and that systems are
streamlined and support swift programme delivery. The post requires
highly-developed and effective interpersonal and client liaison skills
to ensure that TMEA's teams, partners, bidders and suppliers are
satisfied with the quality of service.
The ideal
candidate will be a graduate and a member of the Chartered Institute of
Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) or of a similar recognized procurement
professional institution. S/he must possess a minimum of ten years'
experience in a busy (and preferably development-oriented) work
environment, at least five of which must be in a senior level
procurement role.
