Bugando Medical Centre is a consultant and teaching hospital for the Lake and Western zones of the United Republic of Tanzania. It is situated along the
shores of Lake Victoria in Mwanza City. It has 900 beds and over 1000 employees. It is a referral centre for tertiary specialist care for eight regions,
namely: - Mwanza, Geita, Simiyu, Mara, Kagera, Shinyanga, Tabora and Kigoma. It serves a catchment’s population of over 14 million people.
Bugando Medical Centre is therefore inviting suitably Tanzanians to fill the following vacancies;-

Medical Doctor II (1-Post)

Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or MBCHB or its equivalent from a recognized Institution. Must be registered by the Tanganyika Medical
Council as a Medical Doctor with one year of internship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 Attending emergency medical duties.
 Participating in major ward rounds.
 Carrying out assigned operations and assisting senior physicians in major operations.
 Participating and conducting research, clinical teaching of medical doctors, interns and medical students and other allied health professionals.
Salary Scale: PMGSS. 8.1
Age Limit : Not above 40 years of age

Nursing Officer II (1- Post)

Entry Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Nursing from any accredited and recognized nursing institution, registered with Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council with one year
of internship.
Duties and Responsibilities
 Teach of student nurses and/or medical students.
 Apply the installed integrated hospital management information systems in all activities and reporting.
 Adhere to the prescribed inpatients and outpatient treatment manual and procedures.
 Ensure that prescribed instructions are carried out
Salary Scale: PMGSS.6.1

Assistant Nursing Officer II (3-Posts)

Entry Qualifications:
Holder of a Diploma in Nursing from any recognized Institution and has been registered in with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Tanzania.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 Nursing care of patients
 Administering medicine and treating patients as prescribed
 Adhering to the rules and regulations of DDA

 Giving health education to patients and their relatives
 Conducting ward rounds
Salary Scale: PMGSS.4.1

Medical Attendant II (3- Posts)

Qualifications
Holder of an Ordinary Secondary School Certificate and must have at least three (3) years working experience in the related field. Must have a PreNursing
Certificate from recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
 Providing basic health education to in patients and relatives in the ward.
 Ensuring that all utensils are clean.
 Inspecting the Institute clinical areas.
 Advising matron on all matters relating to cleaning duties.
Salary Scale: PMOSS.2.1

Personal Secretary II (4-Posts)

Entry Qualifications
Form IV or VI with passes in English and Kiswahili, plus shorthand of 100/120 w.p.m. in English or Kiswahili and 50 w.p.m typing, tabulation and
manuscript Stage III, Secretarial and office procedure Stage II and has completed a basic computer course and holding a Diploma in Secretarial Service
from recognized institutions
Duties and Responsibilities
 To type both open and confidential letters/matters;
 To maintain a dairy of appointment for the executive, advising him of available time and reminding him/her of appointments as requested;
 To answer telephone calls and intercom, giving information to callers or routing calls to appropriate officials;
 To assume responsibility for ensuring that there is adequate efficiency in day-to-day operation of office functions e.g. supply of stationery, dispatch
and receipt of mail, messenger services
and other related functions;
 To co-ordinate all office needs and requirements
 Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisors

Accountant II (1 Post)

Qualifications:
Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy or other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution registered with NBAA as a
CPA (T) Authorized Accountant in Practice. Must have at least three (3) years working experience in reputable organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
 Ensuring financial and internal control systems are effective and are consistent with institute financial rules and regulations.
 Ensuring that financial reports and planned revenue and expenditure are in line with planned activities of the hospital.
 Ensuring that the internal financial control system is functioning properly and providing advice to improve the system.

 Making sure that external and internal financial queries are resolved as advised.

Accounts Clerk II (1- Post)

Entry Qualifications:
Holder of an Ordinary Secondary School Certificate with Ordinary Diploma in Accountancy or related field
Duties and Responsibilities:
 Receives and keeps in proper custody all bills, invoice and other claims pending payments.
 Keeps and post cheque registers
 Keeps and maintains voucher files
 Prepares wages payroll
Salary Scale: PGSS.2.3
Age Limit:Not above 35 years of age

Driver II (1- Post)

Entry Qualifications:
Holder of an Ordinary Secondary School Certificate with passes in English, and holder of class “C” driving license with certificate of driving training from a
recognized Institute. Must have undergone motor drivers course at a recognized institution and posses “Trade Test” Grade III (mechanicals), with at least
three years of class “C” driving experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
 Driving cars and buses as well as other motor machines.
 Ensuring that fuel, oil, water, tires and the general state of the car has been checked before use.
 Providing driving services to BMC staff.
 Transporting parcels from BMC offices to other offices, transport terminals and vice versa.
 Maintaining the log-book for each and every trip.
 Ensuring that the vehicle is serviced as planned.
 Carrying out small repairs if the vehicle breaks down.
 Reporting for major preventing repairs to the Transport Officer

Computer Operator II (1-Post)

Entry Qualifications:
Holder of an Ordinary or Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with Certificate in Computer application from University
Computing Centre (UCC) or any recognized institution.
Duties and responsibilities:
 Entering patients data for hospital use
 Captures data using computers and a variety of peripherals in a data processing environment
 Assisting in running small scale customer jobs
 Assisting in soft-maintenance on daily basis
Salary Scale: PGSS.2.3
Age Limit:Not above 30 years of age
